Samantha’s Story

My name is Samantha, I am a widow and single mother of four children, one of whom I adopted after my husband passed away in 2016. She struggles with type 1 diabetes and her mother also passed away in 2020. Additionally, I am a dog mom to my Presa Canario.

I received a diagnosis of Stage 2b Invasive Ductal Carcinoma on December 21, 2022. When diagnosed, my entire life felt shattered. As the sole surviving parent for my children, I became the first in my family to face breast cancer. The news of my cancer was devastating, and shortly afterward, I had to make another tough decision. Despite working since I was 15, often juggling 2-3 jobs as a young mother, I sadly had to quit my media career in February 2023 due to illness and the demands of a commission-only position. Placing my trust in God's plan, I took a leap of faith.

Throughout 16 rounds of chemotherapy, surgery involving a lumpectomy (thankfully, the chemo eradicated the tumor), and 30 rounds of radiation, I have been contending with severe neuropathy pain. This condition not only poses financial challenges but is mentally, physically, and emotionally draining.

Despite these difficulties, I strive to maintain a positive outlook. "Boxed by an Angel" is a source of comfort and makes someone like me feel special during times when extra love is needed.

-Samantha
