Renee’s Story

I found out on December 19, 2022, that I have Stage 4 serious high-grade endometrial carcinoma. I went through 10 rounds of chemo and had surgery, and now I'm on a one-year treatment called immunotherapy. But, to be honest, things aren't going too well.

After finishing the chemo, my tumor markers started going up again only two weeks later. I also had some issues from the surgery – there's this fluid filling up my belly, and the doctors aren't sure what it is or why it's happening. Back when I was on chemo, it was a weekly thing. Plus, I have this thing called an incisional hernia in my whole belly. The last time they checked my belly with a CT scan, they weren't sure if there's some growth in my colon or if it's just more fluid building up.

I used to live in Lake Wales, FL, but now I'm in Flint, MI. It's been tough for me because I've gone from being really active and working to hardly being able to do anything. On top of all that, during my last chemo, I had an allergic reaction, so now I'm not sure what's going to happen next.

I'm a 47-year-old who's feeling pretty anxious about all of this. Just taking it one step at a time and hoping for the best.
