Kate’s Story

Diagnosed at 33, Kate was a new mom who found a lump shortly after finishing breastfeeding on Nov. 21. It took about a month to get an appointment with the gynecologist. Once seen, the practitioner laughed and said, 'You’re probably just doing this to yourself,' and prescribed antibiotics without a follow-up.

After a few rounds of this, on the first Friday of April 2022, Kate was seen by a breast surgeon who almost instantly said, 'Oh no. Can we do a biopsy right now?'

The results were in: HR+ HER2+ Stage 3B inflammatory breast cancer. Kate is a fighter, a wonderful mother, a loving partner, and a gem of a friend. She has fought so hard; she deserves a nice package of love.
