Karen’s Story

I’m an Ovarian Cancer survivor, diagnosed at Stage 3 in November 2019.

I had surgery, chemo, and radiation, then went into remission. Now, in January 2024, I've been diagnosed with a recurrence and starting chemo in February.

I’m a mom of 5, by birth and adoption, and a grandma of 2, and 56 years old.

I have mild left-side spastic hemiplegic cerebral palsy, which is part of my identity but doesn’t define me.

I feel the same way about cancer now; it doesn’t define me. My faith is a huge support in my life, and family and friends as well.

Thank you for considering me.

-Karen
