Cori’s Story
I’m told my story is “unique.” I had a hysterectomy in 2016 due to severe endometriosis and then underwent a follow-up surgery in 2019. By 2021, I began to feel like it was coming back and sensed that something was off. After extensive testing, I was sent for an MRI, where they discovered more endometriosis—this time on my liver. I found a liver specialist who could remove it, and we scheduled surgery for early 2022.
After a long eight-hour surgery that was originally scheduled for two hours, we were informed that they had to remove part of my liver and diaphragm, and that it was likely cancer. After the pathology results came back, it was confirmed: endometrial cancer. We have been dealing with it for the last two and a half years, and I’m still currently in treatment.
