Christine’s Story

I found out I had stage 3 breast cancer at 35. While many people stress about waiting for biopsy results, I wasn't worried because I was young, had no family history, and breastfed my kids for over a year. But cancer doesn't care about that.

I got the call on December 10th, so our entire holiday became a rush of scans, appointments, and procedures to start chemo in early January. The next year was a series of challenges: chemo, double mastectomy, radiation, chemo pills, diep flap reconstruction, 10 years of hormone therapy, and two years of verzenio.

I wouldn't have had the strength without my kids (2 and 6 at diagnosis). A nurse reminded me early on, "they are the reason you're going through this. You're doing everything to stay alive FOR THEM."
