Stacey’s Story

I'm a mom to two awesome girls, aged 18 and 15. Just a month after my oldest headed off to college, I was diagnosed with cancer after a clear mammogram 6 months earlier. It was an 8cm tumor. I had a bilateral mastectomy on November 14 with 23 lymph nodes removed from my right side. I am battling lymphedema on my right side…and have restricted movement. I started my first of 16 rounds of chemo on January 3rd. I work as a nurse, but I've had to take a break from that. I miss the socializing at work, but my friends have been incredible! I will get there, but the road seems really long and dark some days. One day at a time. Thank you for your support!
