Gretchan’s Story

Hi, my name is Gretchan.

I was diagnosed with stage 2B invasive ductal carcinoma in October of 2022. I underwent a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment.

Due to having all the risk factors for recurrence (very high Ki67, grade 3, lymphovascular invasion, and extramural extension), I have been prescribed Verzenio (typically given to stage 4 patients), aromatase inhibitors, and Lupron injections.

I have found these medications to be harsher than chemotherapy.

I struggle daily, wondering if the side effects are worth it. This journey is difficult and isolating.
