Gretchan’s Story

I was diagnosed with stage 2B invasive ductal carcinoma in October of 2022. I had a double mastectomy, chemo, and radiation.

Because I have all the bad check marks for risk of recurrence (very high Ki67, grade 3, lymphovascular invasion, and extramural extension) I have been put on Verzenio (typically given to stage 4 patients), and aromatase inhibitors, plus Lupron injections.

I have found these drugs to be harsher than chemo. I am struggling daily wondering if the side effects are worth it.

This road is HARD and lonely.
