Cielle’s Story

I am approaching my diagnosis anniversary for TNBC stage 1B. I spent the spring and summer undergoing 8 rounds of AC-T chemo, then had a lumpectomy in September. I did not have a complete response to the hardcore chemo, so following radiation treatment, which I recently completed, I got started on 6 months of Xeloda.

Xeloda has proven to be much harder on my body than even the Red Devil chemo. It’s been a struggle since many people saw me during my “break” following surgery and expect me to be “all better.” In fact, I am in a worse place now, both physically and mentally, than I have been this whole time.

I have a kindergarten daughter who just turned 6 this week, and that helps me to hold it together. She brings so much light and joy into my life. My friends and husband have been huge supports, but there’s only so much leaning you can do, and with my friends, I feel awkward continuing to ask for help.

I’d love to receive one of your boxes.

-Cielle
